Camera owners usually compares EXIF (Exchangeable Image File) data to find out why some photos are good and others are bad. There are special programs that allows you to see EXIF data and there are some extension for your browser that allows the same thing. But what if you are not behind your computer and you just seen a very good photo? How you can find out what was the shutter speed or the aperture value? Now you can find that online.
EXIF data
Traditionally, EXIF data was accessible only with software that had to be loaded onto a local computer. In order to make image file data easily accessible to anyone who may be interested, we have created a simple web-based tool. To use the EXIF Data Viewer, specify a .jpg photograph in one of the fields below. To see the EXIF information for a photo on Flickr, use the nine-digit number at the end of the Flickr URL for that photo. For images saved on your computer, click the "browse" button to identify the location and then submit. For other images on the web, simply copy and paste the url in the rightmost field. EXIF data describes the specification information that is saved as a part of digital photographs. Exif is a shortened version of exchangeable image file format, standardized by the Japan Electronic Industry Development Association (JEIDA) to support the use and sharing of digital photography. Though it is primarily for use with the .jpg format, other file formats are supported, including some audio formats. Examples of information that can be found in the EXIF data for a given picture include aperture and shutter settings, make and model of the camera used, and the date the photo was taken (according to the camera). Though not supported by cameras, once downloaded to a computer, Exif metadata may be updated to include location and geographic tags, as well as a description of the image and copyright information.
